The Collective: Plush Pumpkin

Plush Pumpkin creates handmade fabric pumpkins with real pumpkin and gourd stems

Since 2002, Monya Kampa has been stitching up a couture pumpkin patch in Saint Paul. What started with a velvet swatch and a pumpkin stem for an Autumn centerpiece around the family table has grown to include acorns, mushrooms, peppers and Spring nests. Each velvet pumpkin uses real pumpkin, gourd and squash stems, harvested by hand from local farms. Plush Pumpkin works directly with local farms that plant specific varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds, yielding the most exciting stems. Monya’s pumpkins and other velvet creations can be found in homes and shops around the world, all sent from Minnesota.
