New Ethan Allen Collection Goes Mid-Century Modern

While the solid hues of the Lucy collection are nice, add a bold accent piece with one of the prints

Because Ethan Allen’s new 33-piece furniture collection Lucy is inspired by the mid-century modern style, it of course has the classic sofas in velvet and jewel tones. Yes, many of its chair and sofa pieces also feature the classic upholstered buttons on its seat back or a channel option. However, the collection, which was released in July, has also pulled in the style’s quirky side to complement the sleek silhouettes through print fabrics for its ottoman and throw pillows.

“The modern zeitgeist calls for versatility, comfort, and timeless style, so now we proudly introduce Lucy by Ethan Allen,” writes the company in its lookbook. “Historically, Lucy was the youngest member of the Allen family. Her design persona is innovative, creative, and grounded in the neoclassical.”

Of the 52 fabric options, you can pick from a Wonderland-worthy collage of peacocks, rabbits, butterflies, striped dogs, and flowers in blush or indigo, or go with the marbled Ebru Cobalt fabric. The Kumasi Rainforest fabric goes especially retro with its rounded rhombus tessellations. The Floren Navy fabric packs a punch when you let it stretch over the Keynen ottoman, but for a little burst of citrus, try the Lyon Citron fabric on items like the Peder Bolster pillow. For those still unwilling to board the print train, never fear: The solid-colored fabric options are rich in color with rusts, grays, olive greens, and more.
