Before: This quiet neighborhood on Hardscrabble Point, a peninsula on Lake Minnetonka, was a perfect find for the owners. They loved the privacy and the close proximity to the water’s edge, and wanted entertaining spaces with views of the lake from every room. One level living was also a must for the empty nester couple.
After: To create the rustic contemporary style home that the owners desired, Denali Custom Homes tore down 90 percent of the existing house—keeping only the foundation for its location on the site. Architectural designer David Zweber constructed an open floor plan that utilizes dramatic ceiling heights to separate spaces. The modern design was warmed up with rich stained alder millwork and interior stone wall features. Redstone Interiors specified the rustic, contemporary finishes and comfortable, modern furnishings.
Must-See Features: Don’t miss walking out onto the terrace and experiencing spectacular views of Lake Minnetonka.
