2014 Home Highlights: OSLO Builders

After acquiring a large lot in Edina bordering St. John’s park, OSLO Builders designed the ideal house for a young family. The end result is a five-bedroom, five-bathroom cottage-style home; a cozy, elegant house blending traditional OSLO elements—natural materials, clean lines, classic styling—with the smart planning of modern architecture.

From the street, a large front porch paints a welcoming first impression. Once inside, the main level space welcomes large gatherings, with an open configuration between the gourmet kitchen, casual dining area, and large great room. Architectural details define the purpose of the individual spaces, giving the rooms their own personality.

The bedrooms are conveniently arranged on two levels with an expansive master suite and three bedrooms upstairs, and a guest suite on the lower level. The master suite features a sophisticated and serene master bath and soaking tub, leading to a large walk-in closet which is connected to the laundry room by a pocket door.

The bottom level features a walkout, a large bar area, and an elaborate custom-built media room with state-of-the-art audio/visual components, including an acoustic theater and surround-sound.
