ONE BLOCK FROM LAKE HARRIET, the completion of this Linden Hills abode marks a new chapter for Peter Crain, owner of Trestle Homes. Why? It’s his own. Crain enlisted PKA Architecture to design a modern home that would blend easily into the established and eclectic urban neighborhood.
Designed to match the scale and texture of the adjacent traditional homes, this new home integrates qui- etly into the street while bringing a fresh, modern spirit to the neighbor- hood. The exterior features natural stone and modern glass windows, plus a combination green and metal roof. Inside, one will find custom cabinetry, hardwood flooring, a striking glass and metal staircase, and colorful, comfort- able custom furnishings.
Among the home’s one-of-a-kind features, there is a stunning metal slat wall that divides the dining area from the living room, a dramatic chandelier above the dining table, and advanced home technology systems. The design did not leave out any details—it even features a built-in faucet in the hallway for filling the family dog’s bowl.
