BEFORE: This home required a complete remodel of the interior and exterior to update the floor plan, mechanical systems, and aesthetics and take advantage of its incredible setting. Utilizing the basic shell and footprint of the home, Aülik Design Build created an open- concept main level with an indoor-outdoor aesthetic, four bedrooms, and a generous new barn to house a garage, shop, and in-law suite.

AFTER: Paying homage to historic European farmhouses and barns, Aülik utilized numerous reclaimed products and traditional design principles. The renovated farmhouse and barn look as if they are original settler buildings, with salvaged architectural fragments enhancing a suggested history. The historic character of the exterior gives way to thoughtful, modern floor plans, comfortable practical finishes, and a building that performs like a new build.
