Across the Midwest, four generations of the Gustafson family can claim homes and buildings as their own making, but luckily for us, J. Sven Gustafson is leading his custom home and remodeling business, Stonewood, LLC, from the southwest suburb of Wayzata. With every home they build, Gustafson works with the clients from the beginning, providing expertise and guidance around the architect interviews, site selection, construction process, and more.

“We built our processes around simplicity, transparency, and common sense. We don’t ask our clients to sign a construction contract until we have a final home design, material selections, and a budget that meets our client’s expectations,” says Gustafson.

In fact, Stonewood only builds about eight homes per year so that the projects can get the attention they deserve.
