Local Honey from the Weisman

With the environmental threats to bees growing, there’s no better time to support your local honeybees. Ames Farms is one of our local sources for all-organic, single-source honey that has the location, hive number and floral source printed on the label.

This one is from the Weisman Art Museum on the University of Minnesota’s East Bank campus. The hives on top of the museum—obviously home to the most artistic and well-cultured honeybees around—are part of a network of hives maintained at the U of M.

Thoughtful gifts for any occasion, the honey makes an especially appropriate hostess gift for springtime and Easter celebrations. It is available at the Weisman gift shop. Package of 2 oz. jar of honey and unscented beeswax candle, $10.50; Heavenly Honey, $14.95; Bee matches, $3.50.
