DIY Vintage Wall Courtesy Chalkboard Paint

The Faux Martha, Melissa Coleman knew she wanted the office walls in her new Minneapolis home to look like an old green schoolhouse chalkboard. To get the look, she used Rustoleum’s Chalk Board paint in green as the base, seasoned the wall with chalk afterwards to lighten it, wiped it down with a ribbed kitchen cloth to create the slight texture, and then finished it with a sealer. Coleman loves the color and its venerable classroom patina. “It makes the room calm enough to be creative and spicy enough to feel complete,” she says.
