The classic allure of black and white dominates this Rochester kitchen, with white acting as the main color for cabinetry. However, a black-painted wine bar with a hidden wine refrigerator acts as a dramatic accent. This 2021 lakeside build in Cottagewood embraces avant-garde elegance reminiscent of European boutique hotels. As frequent entertainers, the homeowners wanted to incorporate seating for 12 while also considering storage for their serveware. Crafted from select white oak, a custom banquette, upholstered in golden velvet, seamlessly integrates hidden storage and open shelves, which showcase the homeowners’ cherished art and books.
Secrets Unveiled – Albertsson Hansen Architecture
Inspired by the iconic designs of architects Elizabeth and Winston Close, this kitchen remodel transformed a cramped galley into a midcentury marvel. A concealed drinks area, featuring flipper doors, houses appliances and beverages. When the cabinet is closed, it seamlessly blends with the adjacent paneled refrigerator, but when open, the functionality of the entire kitchen is enhanced.
Modern Marvel – Aulik Design Build
In this contemporary lakeside home, a striking cloud-white glass Valcucine Logica system steals the spotlight, which is complemented by locally crafted walnut cabinetry. The walnut installation not only provides a stunning backdrop but also incorporates a series of ancillary kitchen functions.

A thoughtfully designed addition to this bustling family abode required a relocation of the dining room, which in turn prompted a creative overhaul of the entry and pantry spaces.
