Benjamin Moore is going blue for 2024. Inspired by the beauty of space and the night sky, this year’s captivating color blends hues of blue and violet for a soft, yet statement-making tone. Andrea Magno, color marketing and development director at Benjamin Moore, says, “Blue Nova 825 is an alluring midtone that balances depth and intrigue with classic appeal and reassurance.” Kailee Klevan, certified kitchen and bath designer at Beyond Kitchens in Rochester, adds, “It evokes a fun, yet calming emotion.”
With the popularity of earth tones seen in today’s design trends, this choice was a surprising one for Klevan. While the color is bold, it can be incorporated in ways that add subtle colorful touches to otherwise sleek spaces. “I could see this color being incorporated in an impactful way with paneling and a coordinating wall covering above, or something as simple as bringing it in with artwork and other decor items,” Klevan says. Otherwise, make a statement in “the place where bold colors always work best—a powder room!” she exclaims.
Blue Nova 825 is also part of Benjamin Moore’s Color Trends 2024 palette, which includes 10 unique hues designed to seamlessly blend traditional and modern design styles. From the crisp and timeless White Dove to the warm and inviting Honeybee, each shade in the palette takes inspiration from experiences beyond the ordinary—ensuring that living spaces can be reflections of life’s unexpected and magical moments. “The Color Trends 2024 palette tells a story of duality—juxtaposing light against dark and showcasing complementary and contrasting color pairings,” Magno says. “These contrasts invite us to break away from the ordinary to explore new places and collect color memories that shape the hues used in our homes.”
