Located just off the kitchen in this 1953 rambler, the small, yet mighty powder room puts function at the forefront. Despite compact dimensions, it stands as a focal point in the home, boasting a midcentury floral wall covering with a cherry personality. Thibaut’s Desmond peacock wallpaper was the inspiration for this powder bath’s one-of-a-kind design. After this 1928 Mediterranean Villa-style home succumbed to a fire, the clients wanted to rebuild while remaining true to the structure’s original design. Stone flooring aligns with the art deco aesthetic and provides ease of cleaning.

Preserving the 1939 floor, a carefully selected porcelain console vanity with classic curves enhances the space without crowding it. In this compact 5-by-5-foot powder bath, creativity meets functionality. A custom-built vanity—inspired by a beloved, inherited furniture piece—incorporates full-extension drawers to maximize storage. In just 13 square feet, the powder room of this St. Louis Park abode emerges as a captivating jewel of the home. An emerald green tile, used elsewhere in the home as well to create a sense of continuity, immediately captivates on an accent wall. Accessed by a custom shoji sliding screen door, the space also houses a custom concrete and walnut recessed sink, embracing the owners’ playful design spirit.

The homeowners’ commitment to budget-conscious refinement unfolds in meticulous details, including a delicate marble mosaic floor, wainscoting, and a butterfly-inspired wallpaper that serves as a captivating focal point.

Completed in December 2021, this delightful powder room mimics the effervescence of champagne bubbles. A metallic wallpaper with small circles, which is complemented by a feature wall of mirrors, sets the tone The custom-finished vanity boasts a metallic sheen and reflective circles on the door fronts, while a chandelier seems to drip bubbles from above.

Serving both convenience and style, this nautical-themed oasis, adorned with a whimsical navy fish wallpaper, captures a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Compact, yet functional, it boasts a light gray stone quartz countertop, as well as chrome sconces and hardware for a touch of sparkle. 

Flower Powder – Twigg + Lu Design Co.

The client of this Woodbury home craved a vibrant retreat. By using bold wallpaper and colorful tile, the dated space was transformed into a personalized haven. White trim, a sleek black door, and vanity foster a modern feel, while gold accents add warmth. The most important elements of the design, however, are the family’s cherished dog-themed artworks, which are tied in through the colors in the wallpaper.
