While making over an existing home is always an admirable endeavor, there’s a certain something about the word “turnkey” that immediately puts the mind at ease. Everything is fresh, new, and you can move in tomorrow. That’s one of the many perks of purchasing a model home, such as this Credit River stunner by Highmark Builders.
Called the “Oxbow,” both the interior and exterior feel like something Joanna Gaines herself might dream up. Nestled in a new luxury development called “The Ranch of Credit River,” the home is punctuated with bucolic rural surroundings.
“The modern cottage one-level living is a perfect fit with the Credit River location and the lot it resides on,” says Matt Eastman, vice president of Highmark Builders. “Large windows in all spaces allow you to appreciate the views from anywhere in the house.”
Draped in shaker shingles and board-and-batten siding, the exterior exudes a cottage-esque feel that continues indoors. A neutral color palette anchors the visuals, while organic textures abound. And conveniently, everything you need is on the main level, including a laundry room, living spaces, and the primary bedroom.
Highmark Builders began the project in January 2024 and wrapped up in July for the Luxury Home Tour. The team’s goals were to “build a classic home on a beautiful lot using high-end finishes, and, of course, custom design and build processes to give it a level of sophistication,” Eastman details. Those high-end finishes include a mix of matte black and brass fixtures throughout, complemented by white oak floors—all of which allow “a homeowner with any style to make it their own,” Eastman says.
You also can’t beat the luxe touches in this home. For instance, the kitchen showcases sleek Thermador appliances, quartzite countertops, and custom white oak cabinetry that echoes the hue of the wide-plank floors. The bedrooms are sizable, too, each with a custom walk-in closet. In the downstairs area, Jack and Jill-style bedrooms and a game room are geared toward families. And just off the dining room, you can head to a walkout patio and take in the lovely views.
Currently on the market (as of publication), the Oxbow is waiting for the ideal homeowners to move in and make it their own. Describing its “simplistic and timeless design,” Eastman says the future homeowners will undoubtedly appreciate the superior craftsmanship. So, if you’re looking to live in the quiet area of Credit River, but close to the Prior Lake and Lakeville areas as well, this might just be the perfect place. “This home could appeal to empty nesters or a family,” Eastman says—it’s a place where, someday, memories will certainly be made.
