Reveal and Conceal: Encaustic Paintings and Sculpture

Encaustic is gaining momentum and making moves and Minneapolis’ Kolman & Pryor Gallery is ahead of the curve. The new gallery, curated by artist Jodi Reeb, showcases the work of four national encaustic artists: Helen Dannelly, Jeffrey Hirst, Julie Snidle, and Reeb herself. Encaustic is an art medium—a really neat one, too. Melted beeswax and colorful pigments are combined to create hot wax paintings and sculptures. Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. @ Northrup King Building #394, 1500 Jackson St. N.E., kolmanpryorgallery.com
