Mom deserves a better celebration than scrambled eggs in bed. This year, take her to experience one of these charming events happening throughout the Twin Cities. There are Mother’s Day meals, crafts, and experiences all weekend long. Here are our favorites:

Mother’s Day Tours at James J. Hill House

Browse period furnishings in this historic home while exploring Mary Hill’s life as the mother of 10 kids and wife of James J. Hill. These special guided tours will run throughout the day Saturday, and a self-guided program is offered Sunday. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. @ James J. Build Your Own Wine Charms

The perfect craft for wine lovers is here—or at Royal Foundry Craft Spirits. Hosted by Marvelously Midwestern, you can turn vintage jewelry into a unique set of wine charms. Embolden Art Show

Mother’s Day Brunch at the Science Museum

Dinosaurs and science experiments may not come to mind when you think of Mother’s Day, but the Science Museum hopes to challenge that with brunch. Look out over the Mississippi River and enjoy a hearty buffet for this special day. Offerings include coffee cake, chicken marsala, and more crowd pleasers. Musical Mother’s Day Feast

The Baroque Room presents violinist Jennifer Lang, dance historian Jane Peck, and pianist Asako Hirabayashi.
