We know it may not be the Grammys. It may not be the Oscars or the MTV Music Awards or the Emmys or the Golden Globes—but for the designers, architects, and manufacturers whose livelihood depends on it—it might as well be.

Interior Design magazine, a design industry publication with more than 80 years of run time, is currently accepting submissions for the 13th annual Interior Design Best of Year Awards—a design awards program that honors and highlights the year’s very best products and projects from around the globe. In an ultimate measure of brilliance, the design community will put their best feet forward and work tirelessly to set the bar higher and higher. For $300 per entry, aspiring Bulb Award-winners can submit work in nearly 120 categories—including art installations, architectural pop-ups, beauty/spa, commercial lobby, and more. Lots more.

After the mid-September deadline, product submissions are entered into a public gallery where friends and family can vote once per day in each category from Oct. 5-16. Project submissions, on the other hand, are narrowed down differently: finalists are judged, handpicked, and carefully selected by an Interior Design editorial panel to be announced mid-November.

Come November 30, finalists will gather in New York City at the live awards ceremony that draws worldwide attendance of more than 1,000 spectators. Interior Design’s Cindy Allen (editor-in-chief) and Carol Cisco (publisher) have the honor of announcing the lucky winners and honorees.

Winners don’t leave empty-handed, either: They’ll take home a light bulb-branded trophy (designed by Harry Allen) and bragging rights, but it’s the increased exposure that will be the gift that keeps on giving. Winners will be featured in the December issue of Interior Design magazine, in an online gallery on the magazine website, and promoted throughout Interior Design’s digital channels. Further, the awards program gifts frontrunners with official digital assets, marketing materials, and features on Interior Design’s social channels.
