Minnesota Pinners’ Conference
It’s hard to bring the limitless DIY and inspiration of Pinterest to life, but this annual conference manages to do it. With more than a 100 classes that cover topics like making succulent hangers, hair braiding, calligraphy lettering, wooden sign tutorials for a happy home, and more. To match the plethora of classes, more than 100 booths will be there as well, so instead of pinning your favorite ware, you can get it and ask for some extra tips and tricks from possibly the artists themselves. Booths include BB Frosch Chalk Paint, Kiss my Grass Soapery, and Stamps By Judith & Heather. Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. @ Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 Second Ave. S, Minneapolis, mn.pinnersconference.com
Native American and Decorative Art Sale
Revere Auctions is not only the first fine arts auction house in Minnesota, but it is the first U.S.-based fine arts auction house to accept Bitcoin. Owners Robert Snell and Sean Blanchet have complementary art backgrounds, so you can expect many more high quality sales across history and geography to come. Their first two sales have already achieved domestic and international records. For June’s auction, check out extensive collections and pieces of Native American ceramics including a Maria Martinez blackware bowl which won First Premium at the New Mexico State Fair in 1964. Hear from Snell and Blanchet at Midwest Home’s preview of the auction. Preview gallery through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday auction at 10 a.m. @ Revere Auctions (listed as Hiro Fine Art Gallery on the directory), International Market Square, 275 Market St., Suite 524, Minneapolis, revereauction.com
