Designed By: Rena Feldman, Allied ASID
Although this house was outdated, Rena Feldman, Allied ASID, Inview Interior Design, immediately recognized the architectural potential. The first issue: the old, dark, inefficient galley kitchen was isolated from the rest of the house. This was solved by removing a wall and replacing it with a large island, then building a new wall between the kitchen and the staircase to extend the cabinetry beyond the galley.
A classic color combo of black and white is complemented with custom white oak cabinetry, a beautiful glass tile backsplash, open shelves, fun light fixtures, and slightly antiqued brass hardware.
The new space perfectly fits the homeowners’ vision: elegant without being too stuffy, updated but not too perfect, and well appointed yet livable.
