A bright chapter in St. Paul’s history has come to a close, because on Monday evening, Creative Lighting announced the closure of its Concordia Avenue showroom via social media. Known for its expansive collection of high-quality lighting fixtures, Creative Lighting has been a cornerstone of the St. Paul community. The news came as a shock to all, with the post garnering an outpouring of heartfelt comments from loyal customers who are saddened by the loss of the beloved lighting destination.

In the announcement, the team expresses their gratitude, stating, “For nearly a century, we’ve had the privilege of lighting homes, businesses, and lives, and it has been an honor to serve such a loyal and supportive community. Your trust, friendship, and continued support have meant the world to us, and we are forever grateful for the memories we’ve created together.”

But while this news marks the end of an era, it also presents a rare opportunity to take home a piece of its history. As part of the closure, the store’s inventory—including a large selection of light fixtures, home decor, furnishings, and more—is being put up for auction by local auction and marketing company Grafe Auction. A public preview of the items will be held Sept. 16 from noon-6 p.m., giving customers the opportunity to see the offerings in person prior to bidding. The event begins closing Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. and will continue until all items in the auction have gone through the bidding process. For full auction details, visit grafeauction.com.
