American Craft Show

Local lovers of artisan-made fashion, jewelry, furniture, and home décor items get ready: The annual American Craft Show at St. Paul RiverCentre will soon be ready to impress. The 2018 show will include 230 artists from around the country as well as two popular features focused on interior design and fashion: “Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft” and “Style Slam.”

“The work of American Craft artists is meant to be worn and enjoyed every day,” says the American Craft Council’s marketing director Pamela Diamond. “That’s why we created the ‘Make Room’ interior design and ‘Style Slam’ fashion programs—to show our artists’ work in the context of attendees’ lives.”

This year, local designers were asked to create room vignettes based on color—a favorite color or group of colors. The four designers and their chosen colors are: Sally Wheaton of Wheaton Hushcha Design in Minneapolis (yellow); Susan Brown of Susan E. Brown Interior Design in St. Paul and Amy Ouradnik of Aurora Decorative Finishes in Minneapolis (orange); Mark Burgess, Paul Udris and Edie Sebesta of U + B Architecture & Design in Minneapolis (blue); and Jamie and Morgan Molitor of Construction 2 Style in Minneapolis (green).
