Debut Debuts “Shop for Kindness” Benefiting 5 Nonprofits

The storefront of Debut at Mall of America.

Giving back just got easier with the opening of Debut. The store at the Mall of America will feature a rotating selection of goods. Its current collection, “Shop for Kindness,” showcases artisan gifts, art, and décor from local and national organizations with philanthropic missions.

The selection includes colorful baskets, textiles, and soaps made by West African artisans and imported by North Loop retail importer House of Talents, and fair-trade goods curated by Smile Network International, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit that provides cleft-lip and -palate reconstructive surgery to children in developing countries.

Others in the “Shop for Kindness” collection donate products and services to important causes. Twill, a maker of products including organic-cotton blankets and cozy beanies, gives the same product to someone in need with every purchase, Northern Glasses donates a gallon of water with every purchase of its Minnesota-themed pint glasses, and sales from Yoobi school supplies fund classroom packs distributed to schools in need across the United States. The collection is available at Debut through September 10.
