A meeting with this Edina client to discuss updating the sun porch furniture ended up with this white kitchen being transformed from 1980s everyday to 2013 gourmet with the help of JK Interiors.
The kitchen was carefully planned to maximize the existing space. The first step to improving the feel and function of the space was to widen the doorways from the kitchen into the sunroom, dining room, and hall, while eliminating the pocket door going into the mudroom to allow for an additional wall of cabinetry.
A large center island offers even more storage and seating hiding the microwave and wine fridge.
The rift cut oak cabinetry is warm and welcoming and the bright pops of color throughout add personality, a nice contrast from the sterile white of the old space.
The homeowners actually considered moving because of how much they disliked the old kitchen. They couldn’t see past the space they were living in to understand its full potential says Jackie Wulf, owner, JK Interiors. They love their reinvented space so much they are happily staying put.
