For one Bloomington family, the imagining became reality when they called Bridgewater Construction to reinvent their modest 1950s galley kitchen. Through the use of smart design, the space went from cramped and outdated to elegant and modern—with three times the counter space and twice the storage for cooking and entertaining.
“We didn’t change any walls in the house,” explains Craig Weber, owner. “We used the existing space in creative ways.”
One wall of the dining room was used for additional cabinetry, and the new kitchen countertop was extended beneath the existing bay window, providing deep space for drawers and storage. A wood-grain ceramic tile was used on the floor, combining the warm look of wood with the durability of ceramic.
