The 2018 Homes by Architects Tour is just around the corner! On September 15 and 16 (from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days), view 17 stunning new and remodeled homes designed by the best architects in Minnesota. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your tour time.

Remix your route. Don’t feel as though you have to start at Home 1 and make your way in sequence to Home 19. Start with the closest and work your way out; reverse course; start in the middle—do whatever works for you!

Reuse your booties. If you plan to visit more than one home on the tour, bring your shoe covers from the first house along so you can bypass the crowd waiting to grab a fresh pair at the door. It’s also a great way to save resources and keep future ticket prices low.

Hop on the shuttle. There are several homes on this year’s tour that can only be accessed by shuttle. Review instructions on your ticket or visit the website for more information, and plan a little extra time for the ride.

Like the tour on Facebook. We want to hear what you think. Like the Homes by Architects Tour on Facebook to get updates leading up to the tour and share your experiences.

Don’t miss the far-flung homes. From Princeton to Minnetonka, from Mound to Stillwater, and many points in between, we’ve got a big portion of Minnesota covered on the 2018 tour. Don’t miss the gems that are off the beaten track.

Don’t miss a new event for 2018. Make time to take a look at the new architecturally-driven community, White Oaks Savanna, in the Stillwater area. Or end your touring day on Saturday on the savanna while enjoying complimentary food and beverages from 5-8 p.m.

Whether you manage to visit all 17 homes, or just peek into a few that pique your interest, we hope you enjoy the 2018 Homes by Architects Tour! Tickets are available online at www.homesbyarchitects.org until noon on Friday, September 14. Tickets may also be purchased at any of the tour homes all weekend during the event.

Your tour ticket includes a summary of the rules for the tour. Make sure to review the rules about in-home photography, children, and other details before beginning your tour.
