Pantone Patterns: Predicting the Color of the Year

Each year, after the global color authority Pantone announces its pick for color of the year, the news goes viral. Once a story covered primarily by the fashion and design industries, everyone in the mainstream media and the twitterverse weighs in these days, eager to comment on the color, Pantone’s rationale for choosing it, and—sometimes—the absurdity making such a choice at all.

But it’s fun. We can’t resist either, and often feature Pantone’s color of the year among products and real-life homes. So we were intrigued when Bellacor, the Minneapolis-based online supplier of lighting and home furnishings, shared this choice bit of research.
