- Minneapolis Home + Remodeling Show: A spinoff of the long-running Minneapolis Home + Gardening Show, this new show offers budget-saving tips and more than 100 vendors for DIY remodeling, interior design, and home improvement. A highlight includes the Cargotecture exhibition, which showcases container homes (living spaces made from corten steel shipping containers), an offshoot of the tiny homes movement. - Global Technique, Local Pattern: Ikat Textiles Opening Party: Explore the history and process behind ikat in this comprehensive exhibition produced by the Goldstein Museum of Design. The bold, intricate pattern—traditional to Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Uzbekistan, Japan, and the South American Andes—has been used in everything from basic cotton garments to luxurious silk saris. - Winter Carnival Orchid Show: The Como Park Conservatory hosts the 43rd annual Winter Carnival Orchid Show, the largest display of privately owned orchids in the region.
