Robert Redford’s Sundance Store Opens in Edina’s Galleria

Edina’s Galleria welcomes a new tenant this fall: Sundance, the Robert Redford-owned, Western-chic catalog—come to life.

The Sundance community began in 1969 when Redford purchased a plot of land in Utah for artists to create work, some of which was sold at the General Store. As demand increased for the store’s specialty items, he launched the Sundance catalog in 1989. It quickly became a respected purveyor of Americana and heritage-style goods.

This will be the fourth brick-and-mortar location to open, following California, Colorado, and Utah. No word on whether Redford will appear, but a portion of the proceeds from the Grand Opening Weekend September 19 and 20 will be donated to Urban Arts Academy, a local organization working to further art education.
