Yardscapes creates water features, patios, retaining walls, lighting, custom pools, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and fire pits for its residential customers. But the 40-year-old company is known for innovative designs that blend art with science—often with sculptural pieces that add distinction to a landscape. This year, Yardscapes owner David Kopfmann parlayed his in-house welding shop into its own business: MetalSmith’s.
Gates, trellises, and sculptural pieces for landscapes are available at Twisted Elements, a new outdoor-living showroom at International Market Square, owned and run by Kopfmann’s son-in-law, Peter McLoughlin. The new showroom gives customers a chance to see and touch pieces in an “outdoor” environment—regardless of the season—making it easier to envision a final design. Twisted Elements will also feature outdoor furniture as well as sculptural works and artisan gates from other designers. twisted-elements.com
