Local artist Clair Daley created this pretty invitation, its matching envelope, and place cards—a bespoke, handmade touch for any springtime celebration.
Daley is the calligrapher behind Hooked Calligraphy, a Minneapolis maker who creates custom, modern hand-lettered work for weddings, events, parties, and other design uses. She loves doing things by hand. She says that as a child, she was encouraged to “go draw if you’re bored” and to respond to her grandmother’s beautifully handwritten letters with handwritten letters of her own. As a result, she grew up loving the feel of using ink on paper.
She offers a variety of design services including calligraphy branding, illustrations, tattoos, custom maps. and more. Her invitations, envelopes, and place cards carry through a party’s theme from save-the-date cards to tabletop décor to post-event thank-you notes.
