Idea to Steal: Vintage-Style Ceiling Fans at Wayzata’s CoV

There’s much to love in the Cape Cod-inspired interiors of CoV, the newest restaurant on the shores of Lake Minnetonka in downtown Wayzata. It’s hard to say which is more impressive: the light-and-airy transformation by interior designers David Shea and Jennifer Cashman of the former down-and-dirty Sunsets or the addition of a subtle-but-effective acoustical system that makes it possible to converse without shouting  yourself hoarse. We noted the wall of windows that open to the lakeside patio, the creamy lapboard walls, wire-brushed oak flooring, touchable zinc bar, and booths with nautical-themed pillows. Despite all that, we kept looking up: The ceiling fans—vintage designs with belt drives—put us in mind of a seaside barroom untouched since the turn of the last century. If you’re thinking just such a fan would look mighty sweet in your three-season porch or family room, check out the Brewmaster fans by Fanimation. Find local retailers at fanimation.com.
