Home Fashion Fabrics by Josi Severson is shuttering its downtown Minneapolis retail shop, studio, and showroom and moving to the North Loop. Not by choice: Severson is one of the tenants evicted from the Handicraft Guild building to be demolished to make way for a 100-unit apartment building at 10th and Marquette. The textile designer creates hand-drawn fabrics, manufactured and printed in the United States using certified-organic materials. Known for her Scandinavian and African–inspired prints, Severson’s bold patterns convey a sense of fluidity. Until her move to Jeromeo in the Loop, a global gift-and-décor shop, is complete, Severson will sell her fabrics, fashions, and home goods through her website and Esty shop.
