Get the Look: Holiday Glam

Hello Gilt

The revival of gold and brass simplifies seasonal decorating—all that’s required for holiday cheer is the judicious sprinkle or two. Here, a console table of reclaimed pine ($549, available at West Elm), grounds a palette of gold and winter white, amped up by Capiz cone trees (small, $52, medium, $98, large, $78, all available at Ampersand); vintage bronze bookend, set of two, $65, from Spinario Design; metallic gold books, $38–$45 each, and gilt armchair, $1,215, from Victory Home & Interiors; paintings by Siri Knutson, $500 each, from The Foundry Home Goods.

Flooring: Wood Talk, in gray pepper, by Ergon, 6-inch-by-36-inch, $10.15 per square foot, available at Kate-Lo Tile & Stone.

Minimalist Magic

If simple and modern is your look—in furnishings, accessories, and holiday decorating—this one’s for you. A vintage Lucite table, originally from the Cargill estate ($1,600, Spinario Design), forms the gossamer base for this spare-but-seasonal tablescape. A modernist silver-leaf centerpiece, $175, also from Spinario, softened with moss and succulents, gets glam with crystal geodes, $45, from Victory Home & Interiors. Perfect complements: the metal-woven stars, small, $25, and large, $36, available at Tangletown Gardens, and Simon Pearce Vermont evergreen glass trees, 12-inch, $185, 16-inch, $250, available at Ampersand; oil on canvas paintings by Danielle Voight, $375 (left), $250 (right).

Woodsy Welcome

Organic textures, reclaimed wood, and a potted pine add a little north-woods ambiance for a more rustic style. River birch logs make artful props now and, if you like, a cozy fire later. Birch ($3 per linear foot) and Horstmann’s Korean fir, $199, both from Tangletown Gardens; moose antler, $98, from Victory Home & Interiors; glass cloche, $42.50, and iron crate, $18.50, both from Hunt & Gather Antiques; fur-wreathed deer, $98, from Ampersand; red table runner, $29.99, available at Crate & Barrel; reclaimed pine Emmerson console table, available from West Elm; linen booties by Fog Linen, $26, available at Forage Modern Workshop; ornaments, and moss and twine balls, $4.40–$15.95, all from Koehler & Dramm.
