We’re accustomed to thinking luxurious warmth when we think of Faribault Woolen Mill. But this spring, the 150-year-old company departs from its traditional specialty with a new line of recycled cotton throws and totes. The nautical-inspired throws, named Isles, Tonka, and Excelsior after the Minnesota lake communities, feature colorful stripes and a soft texture that make them just right for warding off summer-evening chill. The tote bags, the first to be completely crafted in-house by Faribault bag makers, are made from American-sourced canvas and leather. Eco-friendly and affordable, we’re sure to be seeing these bags around town soon. Faribault’s new cotton products are available online and from a handful of local retailers. faribaultmill.com
