Looking for a unique gift for new homeowners or house lovers?
Consider graphic designer Adam Demers’ custom house portraits as a way to help them commemorate or celebrate their dwellings.
Demers was inspired to create portraits of houses in his neighborhood after observing them day after day on walks with his dog. He uses vector-based software to illustrate the homes and ensures each piece is distinct. For his custom portraits, he can work from customers’ images, photos he takes himself, or even Google Street View—whichever gives him the clearest picture of the house.
He’s also branched out with a series of old vehicle portraits. So if there’s a car lover with a taste for vintage in your life, you might consider a custom portrait of their favorite ride.
He offers custom house (and car) portrait packages for $1,200, which include the original digital artwork, an archival giclée print, eight greeting cards, and delivery. Larger-size prints, additional prints and cards, mugs, tea towels, and more can be purchased for additional fees. Allow approximately six weeks for production and shipping.
