A Brightly Colored Front Door Helps a Home Stand Out

Nothing makes a house stand out on a sedate street like a front door painted in a bright color. This Kenwood home makes a statement with its classic brick stoop punctuated by a golden ray of sunshine. Technically, that’s the door painted with Benjamin Moore Dorset Gold HC-8, says Minneapolis interior designer Kate Roos. She also chose the Urban Electric Co. lantern above. Of course, this scene’s special je ne se quoi comes from the sisters who live here: Vivian, 6, and Helen, 9, add their own pop with popsicles that perfectly match their fuchsia dresses.
