Before

The owners loved this old house, but it was full of challenges. Their bedroom and bath were in the basement, and the second floor had small bedrooms, but no bathroom. To top off the list of problems, the house also had a steep stairway, broken windows, worn and sagging floors, a dated kitchen, and too many walls.

After

Brian Jones and his team at Jones Design Build created an efficient layout for this remodel. They moved the stairway, tore out a three-story brick chimney, and removed the attic. Two bedrooms and bathrooms now occupy the second floor. The updates also included new windows, finishes, and mechanical systems.

Must-see Feature

The vintage vibe of this home shines now that everything is refreshed. The classic trim and stairway, new vaulted suite, marble bathroom, and the new kitchen all work in harmony. The view of downtown Excelsior from the back of the house is amazing.
